About

Shame has a strong impact on us both as children and as adults. It may cause children and adults to have low self-worth, anger, rage, depression, and loneliness. The young child needs to avoid it at all cost; the nervous system of a child younger than 4-5 years old is not developed enough to process shame healthily. Children need parents that can show them healthy ways of regulating embarrassment, shame and humiliation.

When we learn to process shame by understanding our underlying needs, we are empowered to:

  • Set boundaries and say no
  • Say yes to challenging possibilities
  • Deepen the trust in our relationships
  • Stay in connection with ourselves and others

In this workshop, we focus on how we can support children at any age to handle the strong impact that shame has on them.

This is an interactive training with practice, Q&A and modelling.
